RED
RIBBON CHRISTMAS OUTREACH in Clinton County
On Saturday,
December 12,at the Frankfort Plaza, CCMOH provided a Secret Santa
shopping event for children in grades K-5. Adults were offered
cookies and punch while 69 children shopped for gifts for their
parents and siblings. Items from a value of $.50 to $12.00 were
provided at cost, and scholarships were available with
recommendation from the schools.
On Saturday,
December 19, volunteers delivered Kokomo Rescue Mission's RED
RIBBON CHRISTMAS boxes full of gifts and food for 643 people
throughout Clinton County. Applications were taken at both sites
of the Ministry of Hope dinners in November.
Thanksgiving
Banquet for 165
The line wound around through the tables
to get a turkey dinner with all the trimmings. The Tuesday
evening before Thanksgiving, 165 people crowded into the Paul
Phillippe Resource Center. They came to eat, to fellowship and to
apply for help from Kokomo Rescue Mission's RED RIBBON CHRISTMAS
OUTREACH. After everyone had been served, the leftovers provided
an additional 35 take home meals.
Ministry
of Hope Expands Outreach

evening of each month, Clinton County Ministry of Hope expanded
its outreach by offering bags of groceries in addition to the
free meal that evening, to those who meet the income guidelines.
Right: A gospel

Clinton County
Ministry of Hope Steering Committee
- Clinton County Ministry of
Hope operates under a Steering Committee selected by the
people of Clinton County who in turn will work under the
auspices of the Kokomo Rescue Mission.
- Fourteen teams of
volunteers from nine local churches currently rotate in
preparing and serving the meal from food supplied by KRM.
The church represented by the volunteers also provides a
short devotional during the meal.
- We offer this opportunity
to churches as an effective way to provide the needy with
food for both body and spirit. An average of 60 - 75
people are currently being served supper each Tuesday
evening and are given leftovers to take home for the
following day.
