Food to You, Kokomo Rescue Mission and Kokomo Urban Outreach's rolling food pantry makes it's first distribution.

On Wednesday May 5, Food to You rolled into the parking lot of Grace Memorial Chruch of God in Christ. Between12:00 and 2:00 p.m., 81 families (246 people) received assistance consisting of food for 10 meals. 54 of those families had never before received help from any of the cooperative network of food pantries in Kokomo. Food to You came into existence to serve people in areas where there is no food pantry within walking distance. A regular schedule for Food to You, including other sites, will soon be announced.

The first person to receive help from Food to You!

The food was portioned for 10 meals for a family of four, sacked in small amounts per sack for easy handling.

Pastor Steve Beutler from Grace United Methodist Church helped with distribution.

The truck and trailer that made Food to You possible was donated by Grace United Methodist Church.

Everyone who received food checked in with identification so it could be verified that they had not received food in the current month from a network of cooperating pantries in Kokomo.

In addition to the food for 10 meals, there were additional "free to choose" items like homemade laundry soap, bags of sunflower seeds, beef sticks and frozen breakfast sandwiches..

In addition to Grace United Methodist Church, Food to You has also been sponsored by Oakbrook Community Church, First Congregational Church, and the Center Township Trustee.
