The generous support of our donors has allowed Kokomo Rescue Mission to build and open the Engagement Center, where men, women and children from across central Indiana are receiving the holistic support they need to rebuild their lives. We are serving our community in this space, while simultaneously continuing to raise funds to pay off this project.
This is crucial because the need for help continues to push us beyond our capacity. The Engagement Center is already making an impact:
> Our shelter waitlist has been eliminated.
> Roughly 200 repeat clients are being served monthly.
> Our expanded dining facility is a vital gathering place for emergency meal service across our community.
The Engagement Center means more beds and more meals, but most importantly for people in need, it means more connection. With partners coming alongside them to help. With programs that are transforming their lives. And with the gospel, which is at the heart of everything we do.
The completion of this building marks the beginning of a new era of hope and healing. Your continued support is allowing us to better serve those in central Indiana by:
- Providing space for community agencies to deliver transformational programs and services on-site to those who need them most.
- Offering individuals experiencing homelessness access to showers and laundry facilities.
Your gift is also funding a comprehensive remodeling project that has:
- Expanded the kitchen to meet increased meal demand.
- Reconfigured the upper level to include an intake dorm for up to 24 men.
- Created dedicated space for single fathers with children.

The Vision
A place where our community reaches out together.
As the homelessness crisis continues to intensify, we are seeing a significant increase in individuals seeking refuge at our doors. These individuals are coming to us from across central Indiana. We currently have residents from Howard, Grant, Hamilton, and Marion counties, among many more. In response, we launched a capital campaign to expand our facilities and services to meet this growing demand, and that expansion is now a reality.
This expansion includes a new building that has greatly increased the capacity of our men's shelter and expanded our community dining space. Most critically, the new facility houses our Engagement Center, a dedicated space designed to host on-site partnerships with mental health providers, healthcare professionals, workforce development agencies, educators, and other essential service organizations. By inviting these partners into our space, we have eliminated access barriers and are providing holistic, coordinated care for our residents, empowering them toward independence within society and dependence on the Lord.
Every day more men, women, and children come to our doors in desperate need. The Engage Capital Campaign made this possible, but there is still work to do. Please give today. Hope can't wait.
