5th Sunday – ‘Restock Sunday’ – August 30th
Greetings! We, at the Kokomo Rescue Mission, pray that you all are doing well and are continuing to thrive amid this COVID-19 time. “Be strong and courageous” are words that God has had for his people and are so appropriate for today’s culture.
Below is the August 2020 edition of Kokomo Rescue Mission’s quarterly bulletin insert called News for the Pews. The purpose of the quarterly News for the Pews is to develop an awareness of how the Kokomo Rescue Mission’s ministry helps the poor and disadvantaged throughout the year. Many people think about the Mission during the holidays, but unfortunately homelessness and poverty know no season making the need always ongoing.
This event is our 5th Sunday Focus on the Mission focusing on our “Restock Sunday” need for the August 30th Fifth Sunday. These items include: diapers – size 4,5,6 only, toilet bowl cleaner, disinfectant wipes, antibacterial hand soap refills, paper towel, toilet tissue, and coffee. As you know, some of these items have been fairly scarce during this time of uncertainty but are vital for us to provide a safe environment for those we serve. Each 5th Sunday Focus on the Mission is a way of informing others of a need for products that can be as helpful to the Mission as cash. The next 5th Sunday will be November 29th, 2020.
From the very beginning in 1953, the Mission has been an arm of the church extended to help the poor. We continue with that vision today. If you haven’t been involved with Kokomo Rescue Mission in the past, please visit the rest of our website to see areas of need where you can join us in helping to serve those who are homeless, hungry and hurting in our community. We would love to give you a tour of our facilities and discuss ways that we can partner with you to reach a world of lost souls.
Your partner in RESCUE,
Van C. Taylor
