Each July, a favorite annual event is “Beef Up the Mission”.  “Beef Up the Mission” started in 1989 with the help of WWKI Radio and White’s Meat Market and quickly became an annual event.  Around the area at local 4-H Livestock Auctions, donors and friends of the Kokomo Rescue Mission purchase Steers and Hogs, and then tell the auctioneer “Send it to the Mission!”  The beef and pork that comes from these 4-H animals is used throughout the year, to feed those in need in our community.  All of our “feeding programs” benefit from this project; the meat is used in our public Dining Room (Kokomo), at Open Arms, as well as in grocery orders for our Assistance Program.
