What is Walk a Mile?
Walk a Mile in My Shoes (the official full title) is a fundraising walk and educational experience. It raises crucial funds to support the women and children at the Kokomo Rescue Mission. Participants also learn more about homelessness in our area and about what it's like to live in a shelter.
Are there age/physical restrictions?
We welcome "walkers" of all ages and abilities, even if they need to ride in strollers or use walking assistance tools. The only exception is seeing the upstairs bedrooms at the shelter; but there are rooms downstairs at both Watered Garden and Open Arms to see!
Do I have to register to participate?
We would like all participants to register so we can properly account for all donations. If you just want to make a donation to Walk A Mile, simply register as an Individual.
How do I get my t-shirt?
T-shirts require a minimum of $50 raised in donations. If you meet this requirement, you can receive a t-shirt when you turn in your donations (while supplies last).
Can I buy extra t-shirts?
Yes! We will sell extra t-shirts during the event, and the Care & Share Store (314 W. Mulberry St., Kokomo) will sell extra t-shirts after March 4th (while supplies last).
