ANNUAL THANKSGIVING FEAST

The Kokomo Rescue Mission will continue to make our annual Thanksgiving Feast available to anyone who would like a meal. With the pandemic still present, along with our desire to keep everyone safe, we will once again be providing the meals as delivery, drive through and Grab & Go only.
To schedule a delivery meal, please call the Mission at 765-456-3838 November 8 – November 23, Monday-Friday from 8:00 am-4:00 pm. The meals will be delivered to your home between 10:30 am-Noon the day of Thanksgiving. Drive through and Grab & Go Meals will be offered at Grace United Methodist Church, 219 W. Mulberry, from 11:30 am-1:00 pm on Thanksgiving Day.
We want to extend a warm invitation to all who would like a meal. We are so blessed to have this opportunity to be able to encourage our fellow neighbors reminding them that we care, and they are not alone.

You can receive two healthy meals 365 days a year!

No qualification needed!

We are serving all of our meals as Grab & Go meals from the Dining Room Door located on the east side of the building at 321 W. Mulberry St, Kokomo, IN.

Meal Times:

Lunch is served from 12:00 pm – 12:30 pm

Dinner is served from 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm

We offer emergency shelter accommodations for men, women, and women with children at the Kokomo Rescue Mission.

We have dedicated programs for both men and women to help you get back on your feet, regain your independence, advance your education, acquire new job skills, and grow in your faith. We also have longer-term residential programs that offer assistance with recovery, counseling, and other individualized help.

Men

The men’s entrance at 321 W. Mulberry (East door) is open for check in at 4:00 pm or call 765-456-3838. You will be asked a few questions to see how we can best serve you.  You will need to bring your photo ID, birth certificate and Social Security card. If you don’t have these, no worries, we will help you obtain those important documents  Our space is very limited, please do not bring a lot of items, no weapons etc.  You will also be asked to submit to a drug test; however, this result will not necessarily prevent you from being accepted.


Women

Please call 765-319-3660 or 765-456-3077.  You will be asked a few questions to see how we can best serve you.  You will need to bring your photo ID, birth certificate and Social Security card. If you don’t have these, no worries, we will help you obtain those important documents.  Our space is very limited, please do not bring a lot of items, no weapons etc.  You will also be asked to submit to a drug test; however, this result will not necessarily prevent you from being accepted.


Women with Children

Please call 765-456-3077.  You will be asked a few questions to see how we can best serve you.  You will need to bring your photo ID, birth certificate and Social Security card. If you don’t have these, no worries, we will help you obtain those important documents Our space is very limited, please do not bring a lot of items, no weapons etc.  You will also be asked to submit to a drug test; however, this result will not necessarily prevent you from being accepted.

NEED FOOD, CLOTHING OR OTHER THINGS?

We can also provide grocery, clothing, houseware items and personal care items to neighbors in need through the Mission’s Assistance Program. To apply for these, you’ll need the following:

  • Photo ID for the person making the application
  • Social Security Card for each member of the household
  • Proof of Income – any ONE of the following items:
    •  Previous year’s IRS 1040 form.
    • Letter from Family Service showing approval for Food Stamps (SNAP) and the date approved.
    • Current Food Stamp (SNAP) card AND a grocery receipt less than 30 days old showing a balance greater than $0.00.
    • A recent award letter from Medicaid, TANF, WIC, SSI or SSD OR a letter stating the application has been filed for government assistance.
    • A copy of applicant’s lease or most recent re-certification letter showing the applicant is living in subsidized housing.

  2. You should see a “Thank you” message and you will receive one in your email as well.  Someone on our Assistance Team will be in touch with you shortly.
  3. You will be asked to submit proof of income and other documents to qualify.
  4. A confirmation email will be sent once you have successfully completed your application and qualify for assistance.

Red Ribbon Christmas Outreach

Christmas gifts for you and your family.

The Kokomo Rescue Mission provides Christmas gifts for hundreds of families and individuals including toys, miscellaneous gifts, household items, personal care items, and gift cards for groceries for all that are income qualified. See below for application dates, locations, and requirements to qualify.

We are so blessed to have this opportunity to bring joy to so many during the Christmas season letting them know we care and they are not alone.

Application Requirements:

  • A current government issued photo ID required for person applying.
  • Social Security cards and Birth Certificates or proof of birth dates for all household members.
  • Proof of household income – this could be one of the following items: 1. A current letter from Family Services documenting you are approved for food stamps and date approved. 2. Show a food stamp card along with a grocery receipt that is less than 30 days old. The receipt must show an EBT F/S balance of greater the $0.00 sometime during the last 30 days. 3. A recent award letter from Medicaid, TANF, WIC, SSI or SSDI or a letter stating that an application has been approved for government assistance. These letters may be obtained from the appropriate agency. 4. If you live in subsidized housing (you receive government assistance with paying your rent) you MUST show a copy of your lease or the current re-certification letter.
